Our mission:
At Nettle, our mission is clear: Healing the hustle through connecting, nurturing, and enlightening. Crafted by the people, for the people, we are more than a publication; we are a testament to the enduring beauty, power, and inspiration of nature. Nettle serves as a reminder that we, as individuals, are always interconnected with nature— Even the skyscrapers have roots.
Welcome to the first edition of Nettle, where we invite you to hit pause to witness nature emerge through the cracks of London’s concrete jungle.
In the hustle of city life, nature emerges for many as a remedy to soothe the harshness of the city. Urban green spaces act as precious sanctuaries for mental well-being and help lots of people to stay grounded amidst the city rush. Nettle seeks to unite people around the shared narratives of mental health, culture, community, and the arts. All rooted in a deep love for nature and a desire for connection.
Why nettles? These resilient plants thrive all year round and thrive in the city by reclaiming spaces enriched by human activity. Their resilience mirrors our own, and their healing properties extend to scientifically validated remedies for ailments like high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis. Nettles are nutritious, versatile and have a lot to offer – from teas, soups and even cocktails (see how via our website).
Join Nettle for a reunion between the city, the people, and its natural roots; through discussions on the intersection of neurodivergence, nature, and the arts, a look into folklore and nature connection, confessions of a guerrilla gardener and so much more.
