Meet the Team
Editor and Co-editor

Jiayi (Josie) Hu
My name is Jiayi (Josie) , the founder of Sip magazine. The moment I cherish most is sipping a drink, putting on my headphones, and quietly meditating. That’s why cups have accompanied me through countless healing moments.
I love magnolia flowers because they symbolise the harmonious blend of strength and grace, as well as the fearless spirit of women. Likewise, I deeply admire Wedgwood, the porcelain brand founded in 1759. The Magnolia Bloom collection, which combines both, allows me to experience not only the functional value of an object but also the deeper spiritual essence it conveys. I believe this is the true charm of art.

Beilin Feng

Hey, I am Beilin (Gloria) Feng, the co-editor and the web designer, with a big love for history and culture—especially when it comes to sharing traditional Chinese heritage.
I come from Shanghai, China. My favourite cup? A cute one with a heart on it—it was the first cup I got when I started my student life in London, so it’s kinda special. To me, every cup holds a story, just like culture—something to be shared, celebrated, and passed on in new and meaningful ways.
Designers

Cerys Jones
Hey! My name is Cerys, I’m working as co-designer and sub-editor at Sip! Originally from France, I love interviewing people with unique stories and writing features which celebrate different cultures and showcase unique stories. My favourite cup is my metal tin mug from which I bought in Kolkata, India, as it’s the perfect size and proportion for my favourite homemade masala chai.

Judith Palmer

I’m Judith Palmer, the designer with a love for creativity and adventure. I grew up in the vibrant landscapes of South Africa but am originally from England, and my experiences across different cultures inspire my work. Traveling makes me happiest—it fuels my creativity and gives me fresh perspectives that I bring into my designs. When I’m not immersed in layouts and visuals, you’ll find me on horseback, embracing the freedom that riding gives me. I also value friendships deeply—whether collaborating on a project or exploring new places, connection is at the heart of everything I do.
Media Group

Zidong Li
Hello! My name is Zidong Li, a person who loves design, aesthetics and life philosophy, and I am also the picture editor of Sip magazine. In this fast-changing era, I hope to present the art, culture and human stories behind cups through Sip magazine. I believe that good articles can warm people’s hearts, and ordinary objects can also carry extraordinary meanings. Thank you to every reader for sharing and communicating with us, and I hope that Sip magazine can help you find the little happiness in life.

Zeling Qian

Hello! My name is Zeling, originally from China. I’m working as social media editor at Sip! My interest lies in how people connect everyday things with deeper philosophical reflections. This is a great opportunity to focus on mugs – something we need to use every day, and explore the emotional, cultural, and even historical significance behind it. I’m also fascinated by how personal stories can be told through objects like mugs, reflecting individual tastes, memories and identities. As for my favourite mug, I’ve chosen the Marimekko cup because of its bold, vibrant Unikko patterns and the way it celebrates joyful simplicity.
“Have you ever looked closely at the cup in your hands?
It is more than just a vessel for holding liquid.”
