Sometimes covertly known as ‘skin whitening’ or ‘skin brightening’, this practice is only growing and seems to have proliferated as online sellers can now easily ship and sell these products overseas.
But what is the problem? Skin bleach is highly dangerous and unregulated. We speak to Stuart Radnedge, regional coordinator for London Trading Standards about how the UK is cracking down on this as well as Goodness Ben (@gooodybag), a healthcare professional from Nigeria who tells us a cautionary tale about her own experience, and why she decided to stop using them altogether.
