Kinky Boots
Kinky boots is an American-British comedy-drama that is inspired by a true story. The film is based on Charlie Price, who inherits his family’s shoe factory in Northampton, England, after his father’s passing. Charlie hates the family business and the financial stress that comes with it. This sparks a questionable friendship with Lola, who strutted into his life purse first, encouraging him to save the shoe factory from closing by producing shoes for the drag community.
The film was such a hit that Harvey Fierstein decided to make it into a musical. Of course, with music by the one and only “Miss girls just want to have fun”, Cyndi freaking Lauper. The musical premiered in 2012 and is still a fan favourite. If you can, do yourself a favour and check it out!
