Goodbye for now divas!

This project has meant the world to us, but it’s time to hang up our heels for now!

– GiGi Magazine

Barrier breaking kings and queens and flamboyant figures of todays LGBTQIA+ generation have redefined the word community like no other. The last five years have highlighted such fabulous growth within drag culture, and remarkable drag artists have sashayed into their rightful centre-stage spots.

GiGi magazine initially aimed to raise awareness of the fabulousness of this community whilst celebrating the warmth, love and kindness that we see amongst the people. You have exceeded our expectations with your willingness to help others shine! In our eyes, drag takes performance culture to another level. We hold an immense amount of respect for the community as it openly welcomes people of all ethnicity, gender and sex to joyfully express themselves.

This community builds tenacious relationships with one another. It supports the culture of drag in a way that is truly inspiring and beautiful. GiGi has received so much love and acceptance from you, and we can only thank you for welcoming us with such generosity and trust with your personal stories. We could not have imagined participating in a project as eye-opening as this. Getting involved with such an incredible culture has been a period in our lives we will always cherish. We hope to revisit the magazine in the future with more fascinating stories full of sass and shameless commentaries.

Here’s to a brighter future for us all,

Tasha, the Editor.
