Not all heroes wear capes: or give head, apparently
An interview with the Harley Quinn series co-creator Justin Halpern has provoked a Twitter sensation after confirming that DC was anti-cunnilingus in the third series of the hit cartoon show. In the chat with Variety published yesterday, Halpern discussed DC’s surprisingly conservative reaction to a little oral sex, as they vetoed a scene where Batman goes down on Catwoman. “DC was like, ‘You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that,’” he said. “They’re like, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’ So, we said, ‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?’ They were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.’”
