Mahogany
Mahogany is an American romantic drama film set in 1975. Directed by Berry Gordy and produced by Motown Productions so you know the music will be good for your soul. The film follows the story of Tracy Chambers, a struggling fashion-design student from Chicago. After meeting Sean, an eminent fashion photographer she meets in the discount store where she works, the young student’s life quickly goes from rags to riches, ultimately leading her to become a runway model in Rome. While Tracy’s quick success and grand ambition brings her success as a professional fashion designer, her diva-ish ways may finish her relationship with social activist Brian and her esteemed reputation in the fashion world.
Mahogany stars Diana Ross as Tracy Chambers and several other amazingly talented actors such as Anthony Perkins as Sean & Billy Dee Williams as Brian.
